If your WordPress website is currently running on HTTP you may want to consider moving it to HTTPS for more security, better search engine rankings and better performance.
If you’re planning on setting up a shop on your WordPress website the site will have to have an SSL certificate and an HTTPS connection. No payment gateway will work with you if you don’t.
Apart from that, HTTPS based websites now rank higher in the search results than an HTTP equivalent so you can benefit from secure transactions, higher search engine rankings and better performance.
